Where it performs
Thrives in hilly and mountain groves and is more cold tolerant than Koroneiki. It also copes well with rain-fed conditions.
Dual purpose
Tsounati, also known as Mastoidis or Tsakisti, is a traditional Cretan dual-purpose variety with a distinctive pointed fruit. We grow plants from an identified mother plantation.

Thrives in hilly and mountain groves and is more cold tolerant than Koroneiki. It also copes well with rain-fed conditions.
Produces intensely aromatic oil with high polyphenol content and excellent stability — often used for monovarietal and high-phenolic olive oils.
Its pointed, fleshy fruit is traditionally used in Crete as a green cracked table olive.
Traditional spacing 6 × 6 m to 7 × 7 m. Due to medium-high vigour it is not recommended for super high density systems.
