On delivery
- Check the plant passport and the variety label of the batch.
- Inspect the roots: white, live roots holding the root ball together.
- Make sure the substrate is moist — plants should never travel dry.
- Record the number of plants per batch for your own traceability records.
Before planting
If you cannot plant immediately, hold the plants in a half-shaded, wind-protected spot and water daily. Plants coming from a greenhouse need a few days of acclimatisation to outdoor conditions before going to the field, particularly during intense sun or cold spells.
Transplanting
- Fully hydrate the root ball before removing it from the container.
- Do not break the ball; only tease out roots circling at the base.
- Keep the substrate level flush with the soil, never buried.
- Firm lightly and water in at once so no air pockets remain.
- Place the dripper close to the root ball for the first months.
Frequently asked questions
